Reimagining Lawrenceville’s Industrial Junkyard site as a hub for community, “Intersections” addresses the dissonance between its forgotten industrial history, and the bustling commercial areas nearby. Moments of compression and expansion, along with framed views of the surrounding industrial fabric, create spaces for construction, community, and interaction.

Set within a former junkyard, this project transforms industrial residue into a tech salvage depot and community workshop. A single-family residence completes the program, binding production, repair, and living into a cohesive site. The members represent Pittsburgh's rising Asian population & Lawrenceville's diversifying demographic.
The concrete base anchors the commercial sector whilst the residential mid section is sheared to face the commercial views of Lawrenceville. Lastly the grand spire becomes the grand atrium that withholds a stargazing quiet room and the community workshop. Its sheathing is scavenged from the metal scrapyard adjacent to it.
