site i. Strip District Waterfront - arising volume

This project explores Pittsburgh’s cultural energy into a network of pathways that become the framework for bold new spaces. One site rises from the Strip District’s growing identity; the other is carved into the historic mass of Station Square. Between them unfolds a civic realm of plazas, art walks, and sculpture parks celebrating the city’s evolving identity as a center for art and community.
Proposed developments are implemented to bring in activity along the waterfront heritage trail in which both sites would be connected by Pittsburgh's tri-river system.

The site matrix highlights both of the sites in the context of Pittsburgh's iconic skyline. The sectional qualities highlights the unique elements of both sites either being the connective pathways between the floors on the historical Station Square site verses the open public gardens between the mixed use residential development on the growing Strip District
